SCF Board of Trustees Report: Oct. 29, 2024

(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 29, 2024) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) District Board of Trustees (BOT) held its regular monthly meeting on Oct. 29.
The board heard presentations on:
- Enrollment Report – Dr. Ryan Hale, SCF vice president of institutional effectiveness, and Dr. Brittany Nielsen, SCF vice president of student services and enrollment management.
- Parrish Schematic Design – Peter Hepner, president of Hepner Architects.
- 2024 Gen Ed Review – Dr. Todd Fritch, SCF executive vice president and provost.
The board approved:
- Nonfinancial and financial consent agenda items.
- The Parrish Schematic Design as presented by Hepner Architects.
- The recommendations of the Curriculum Development and Review Committee to establish, revise or delete programs and courses for General Education to meet requirements of the Florida Department of Education.
- Transferring Capital Project Reserve funds in the amount of $6,000,000 to address damage caused by Hurricane Milton.
- Following list of contractors for the annual re-qualification and pre-qualification for SCF general construction projects costing $50,000 to $1,000,000: Creative Contractors, Inc.; Gilbane Company, Inc.; Manasota Commercial Construction; Willis A. Smith Construction, Inc.; Stellar Development; Tandem Construction, Inc.; Wharton-Smith, Inc.; and Halfacre Construction Company.
The next board meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 10, 2024, at SCF Bradenton.
