SCFCS Venice Receives Third Consecutive “A” Grade on Florida’s Accountability Report

Bradenton, Fla. Aug. 20, 2024

(Bradenton, Fla., August 20, 2024) State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS) Venice has achieved an “A” rating from the Florida Department of Education for the 2023-24 school year. This was SCFCS Venice’s third consecutive year scoring an “A” on the department’s accountability report, which recognizes achievements in standardized assessments, graduation rate, and college and career acceleration.

Opened in 2019 and sponsored by Sarasota County Schools, SCFCS Venice is a tuition-free public charter school located at SCF Venice. The school enrolled 237 students in grades 9-12 in Fall 2023. Juniors and seniors may dually enroll in college courses to earn an associate in arts (A.A.) degree from SCF and a high school diploma at the same time.

SCFCS Venice provides personalized academic coaching for students and college advising for families to help them prepare for future college education. Graduating students may apply for select scholarships from Florida Gulf Coast University and New College for continued tuition-free years at those institutions to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree, saving thousands of dollars for students and families. Among the Spring 2024 graduating class of 14 students, more than half were named to the SCF Dean’s List or President’s List while attaining an A.A. degree, and many earned scholarships to continue their college education at four-year institutions.
