Unlock the World of Cybersecurity at the Super Cyber Winter Camp at SCF Bradenton

(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 6, 2023) — The Advanced Technology Center at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host a Super Cyber Winter Camp, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Jan. 2-5, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W, Building 8. The cost is $65 per day, and discounts are available for SCF students and staff. Participants should bring nut-free snacks and lunch each day. Before and after care is available for a small additional fee.
Designed for students in grades 2-5, the camp will explore the fascinating world of cybersecurity and feature a variety of STEM-related subjects taught in age-appropriate formats, with a focus on cybersecurity, virtual reality and Minecraft for junior engineers.
Daily activities will include:
- Tuesday, Jan. 2: Dive into Minecraft education and explore the virtual world of cybersecurity. Explore technology with LEGO robotics.
- Wednesday, Jan. 3: Embark on a journey into the depths of virtual reality in Minecraft and understand cybersecurity concepts. Learn emerging technology skills with drones.
- Thursday, Jan. 4: Guard your data and defend against malware as you learn about cybersecurity in Minecraft. Unleash your creativity through movie making and music mixing, with a cybersecurity twist.
- Friday, Jan. 5: It’s Choose Your Own Adventure Day, with activities like Roblox, video games, Minecraft and virtual reality to enjoy with friends.
The Super Cyber Winter Camp is all about fostering a deep understanding of cybersecurity in young minds. Through engaging activities and lessons, students will learn how to protect, defend and enjoy this vital aspect of the digital world.
SCF Advanced Technology Center is located on the second floor of SCF’s 26 West Center. The Center provides industry-driven training from leading professionals, equipping motivated individuals with the essential technical skills to succeed in a digital world.
