Maverick’s Rhythm & Rave Returns to Rock SCF Bradenton

(Bradenton, Fla., March 9, 2023) – State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host Maverick’s Rhythm & Rave, a free community party featuring live music, line dancing, a petting zoo, rock climbing, chainsaw art, food trucks and other fun activities for all ages, 5-9 p.m. Friday, March 24. Local musician Trevor Bystrom and his multicultural band will perform on the main stage followed by Derek Lersch, a touring country rock act. The party will take place outdoors at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., on the east side of the campus, parallel to 26th St. The family-friendly event is appropriate for audiences of all ages.
Lersch has performed more than 350 shows, ranging from small bars to large sports arenas, and has opened for country superstar Rodney Atkins. He released a six-song EP, “100 Proof,” in November. His range includes summertime party jams to emotional serenades, and his 2023 tour dates include shows across 14 states. Learn more at DerekLersch.com.
Bystrom was born and raised on Anna Maria Island. His multicultural sound blends elements of rock, reggae, Latin, blues and world. A wide range of instruments are incorporated to accomplish this mix, including flute, violin, ngoni, didgeridoo, Weissenborn slide guitar and world percussion.
