SCFCS Venice Earns “A” Rating on State Accountability Report

(Venice, Fla., August 18, 2022) — State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS) in Venice earned an “A” rating from the Florida Department of Education for the 2021-22 school year. 2021-22 was the first year for SCFCS Venice to receive a grade after it admitted its inaugural class of ninth graders last fall.
Florida grades its schools based on 11 components, including achievement on standardized assessments, graduation rate, and college and career acceleration. SCFCS Venice opened in 2019 and graduated 42 students this past spring. Students at SCFCS Venice posted some of the highest 9th grade assessment scores in the A-rated Sarasota County School District, with passing rates of 95% in biology, 94% in algebra, 86% in English/writing, and 82% in geometry.
SCFCS Venice is a tuition-free public charter school sponsored by Sarasota County Schools. The school is located on the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota campus in Venice. Enrollment is available for students in grades 9-12, with juniors and seniors fully dual-enrolled in college courses with the opportunity to earn an associate in arts degree at the same time as a high school diploma.
