SCF Theatre Presents “The Shadow Box”

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 17, 2022) — State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s (SCF) Theatre Program will present “The Shadow Box” at 8 p.m. February 18, 19, 25 and 26, and at 2 p.m. February 20 and 27. The show will take place in the Howard Studio Theatre at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., Building 11 West, Room 163.
“The Shadow Box,” by Michael Cristofer, is set on the grounds of a California hospital where three dying patients spend their final days in the company of family and friends. The terminally ill protagonists, each kept in separate cottages, deal with their own pain and illness as well as experiencing the grief of their visitors. Honored with both a Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award, the play elicits laughter and tears while celebrating the precious moments of life.
The play is directed by Amanda Schlachter, SCF assistant professor of theatre. The cast and crew of SCF students and faculty include: Craig Smith, Timothy Bourn, Kenji Tryillo, William Ashburn, Katie Priest, Jhonny Lopez-Lopez, Jalex Scott, Weston Wentraub, Victoria Flounders, Michael Longobardi, Hayden Plank, Edward Buckly, Tyla Morrison, Madison Swanson, Joseph Giddens, Ethan Fuhrmeister, Erika Campbell and Savanna Katter.
