Awards

SCF is the recipient of the 2010 and 2011 Association of Florida College's Campus Sustainability Award. We were presented with annual award for demostration of sustainable initiatives in the areas of leadership, operations, outreach and education.

 In 2011, SCF was awarded Leadership in Energy and Efficient Design (LEED) Gold certification for new construction of the Medical Technology & Simulation Center.  This level of award was earned by meeting stringent criteria for site sustainability, water efficiency, energy, materials & resources, indoor environment quality and innovation of design.

Affiliations

The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher education (AASHE) is a non-profit organization which promotes sharing of resources and best practices.  As members all faculty, staff and students can establish a member login to gain acess to this resource.    

 The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non-profit organization focused on sustainability through green building design and certification.
