The Homeland Security Specialist Certificate prepares students new to the Criminal Justice Field for work as first-line supervisory personnel of Service Workers, Police and detectives in geographic areas where those jobs do not require post Academy training and supervisors do not require a degree. All courses are included in the Criminal Justice A.S. Degree if the student later wishes to continue their education in the Criminal Justice Field.

• CJJ  1020  Introduction to Criminal Justice            (3 Credit Hours)

• CJL 2100  Criminal Law                                             (3 Credit Hours)

• SYG 2000  Principles of Sociology                             (3 Credit Hours)

Total Credit Hours:  9

NOTE:  A grade of "C" or higher must be attained for each class in this certificate.
