After the TEAS

I have met the Proficient level or better on the TEAS.  What is the next step?

You may apply to the nursing program during an open nursing application period if all other application requirements are met.  TEAS scores must be on file at SCF by the TEAS deadline.

How long are my TEAS scores good for?
Proficient Level or better scores on the TEAS are good for three (3) years from the exam date or until ATI makes the next version available.  SCF Nursing will accept qualified TEAS 6 exams until August 28, 2023.

I was unsuccessful with the TEAS.  What is the next step?  Students have three (3) attempts to test into or exceed the Proficient level within one calendar year. There is a mandatory thirty (30) day waiting period between each attempt.

  • If you are attempting to achieve TEAS Total and Science scores of 65%, you have only (2) attempts to do so.

What if I took the TEAS at another location?  Can I submit that exam?  As long as your TEAS exam meets our program's requirements, you can purchase your official TEAS transcript from ATI and have it sent to the Assessment & Testing Center by the TEAS deadline for the application period in which you plan to apply.
