State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) District Board of Trustees (BOT) held its regular monthly meeting virtually and in-person with essential staff and trustees on Jan. 31.

The board heard presentations on:

• SCF athletes and SCF athletics from Nick Cichielo, interim athletic director.
• Student Services and Enrollment Management from Dr. Brittany K. Nielsen, vice president of student services and enrollment management.
• Pending rule revision for procurement rule #6HX14-5.18 from Steve Prouty, SCF general counsel.

The board approved:

• Nonfinancial and financial consent agenda items.
• A contract in the amount of $354,020 with Jon Swift Construction for Hurricane Ian damage repairs at SCF Venice.
• A contract in the amount of $413,709.19 with Tandem Construction for Hurricane Ian damage repairs at SCF Bradenton and SCF Venice.
• A contract in the amount of $938,434 with Willis Smith Construction to upgrade seven collegewide elevators.
• A contract in the amount of $808,519 with Halfacre Construction to upgrade collegewide restrooms and ADA door operators.
• Increasing the project budget from $250,000 to $343,000 and a contract in the amount of $216,398 with Willis Smith Construction for the construction of an office suite for the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation in the SCF Bradenton 26 West Center.

The next board meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 28, 2023, at SCF Bradenton.
