The admission requirements for entering the B.S. in Early Childhood Education:

  • Completed A.S. in Early Childhood or A.A. degree( with 2.0 GPA on a scale of 4.0), which must include EEC 1000, EEC 1001, EEC 1601, EEC 1319 and EDF 2085.

The Following Courses must be completed in your first semester of the BS Early Childhood Education Program:

  • EDF 1005 – Introduction to the Teaching Profession & Field Experience
  • EME 2040 – Introduction to Technology for Educators  
  • Successful completion ( grade C or higher) in all prerequisite courses

B.S. Internships Requirements

  1.  Complete all other courses, or have all other courses completed before the Final Internship Semester
  2. Submit a completed B.S. Internship Application

What you’ll study

As you progress through the early childhood education program, you will demonstrate subject knowledge through field experiences and internships. Learn Lesson planning and management skills that you’ll use every day.

What you’ll learn

You will learn to create environments that are healthy, respectful and age appropriate. You will also develop an understanding and value the diversity of children and their families. Your final three courses will be an intensive internship which will prepare you to enter or advance in the field.

Where it can take you

Our program is uniquely designed for students seeking employment in the field of early childhood services. The program fulfills the legal requirements implemented for Head Start teachers and directors, as well as teachers in Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten programs. Successful completion of this program will prepare you for the Florida Teacher Certification. Create your own style of teaching while meeting state and national standards and connect with the joy of learning.

Graduating from SCF’s education program will allow you to pursue many different careers in education such as:

  • Child development center manager
  • Preschool teacher
  • Curriculum coordinator
  • Classroom teacher
  • Administrator of programs

Information Sessions 

Info sessions are a great place to learn about SCF ECE Program and receive answers to your questions. Events will be listed as they are scheduled. Workshops are provided using Microsoft Teams. We recommend using Chrome or Firefox. You should be able to enter through your web browser.

Admissions Process

New students are welcome to Apply online for Bachelor’s Degree Program Admission.

Current SCF Students

  1. Log into MySCF
  2. Under YOUR MYSCF HUB tab choose “Quick Links
  3. Click on, “Apply for Admission to Baccalaureate Programs
  4. Applicant Type – select BS Early Childhood Education application and complete the online form.

Once you have submitted the online application you will receive an email confirming receipt through your SCF Student email.  Be sure to check your SCF Student email account throughout the application process

B.S. Internships Requirements

  • Complete all other courses, or have all other courses completed before the Final Internship Semester
