SCF's 26 West Center reflects a partnership between State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), local employers, the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County and the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation. With the support of these key local stakeholders, SCF was awarded $3.6 million by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity and Enterprise Florida to establish the new center. The funding comes from the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund, an economic development program created to promote public infrastructure and workforce training in Florida. SCF’s funding request was approved by then-governor Rick Scott in 2018.

The center is projected to open in Fall 2021 at SCF Bradenton in the former library (Building 8). Renovations on Building 8 began in February 2020 and are expected to be complete by Spring 2021. Additional funding for the more-than-$8 million project was provided by SCF and the State College of Florida Foundation.
