What's next after graduation?
Diplomas
The official degree or certificate is awarded when all requirements are completed including:
- Cumulative and overall GPA 2.0 or higher is earned.
- All financial obligations to SCF have been fulfilled.
After the College has certified the degrees/certificates the diplomas/certificates will be mailed to the address listed on your application for graduation. You are responsible for notifying the Educational Records office, in writing, if this address should change.
Financial Aid
If you have received federal student loans during your tenure at SCF, you must complete exit counseling. The website http://www.nslds.ed.gov provides important information about the Federal Family Educational and Direct Loan Student Loan Programs, including estimated payments under various repayment options. Please review the NSLDS website referenced above carefully. Once you have reviewed the information, please complete the required exit counseling at http://www.nslds.ed.gov. If you have any other questions, please contact the financial aid office in Bradenton at (941) 752-5037 or Venice (941) 408-1407.
Transcripts
Official transcripts maybe be requested by the graduate online. If they are ordered by the last day of the term and marked "Hold until degree/certificate is posted on transcript" the degree will be verified, certified, if eligible, and mailed within three business days after grades have been posted to the student's transcripts.
Program/Major Change
Summer 2013 deadline – May 16, 2013
If you are continuing your studies toward another degree at SCF you must change your program for the next semester. Since you are graduating in your current program the college will change you to non-degree seeking, unless you request a program change. Be aware this may affect your financial aid eligibility. Click here for change of major form.
