January 2013
- FREE Yoga classes - every Friday beginning January 11th, presented by Zelena One from 12:05 pm to 1:05pm in Bldg. 800-Selby - worth 50 wellpoints for each class (maximum of 300 wellpoints for yoga classes can be earned per semester).
- Tuesday, January 15th - "Self Advocacy," presented by SCF Disability Resource Center staff from 1:00pm to 2:00pm in Bldg. 600-617. Advocates are people who know what they want/need and will stand up for their rights. Self advocacy in college means you are responsible for getting the help that you need... being an advocate for yourself. Effective self advocacy skills will improve your college experience, your academic success and prepare you for the working world, come learn how to be your own best advocate - worth 50 wellpoints. **NOTE: This workshop is gear for students with disabilities.
- Wednesday, January 16th - Blood Drive from 10:00am to 4:00pm, Florida Blood Centers will be out in front of Bldg. 800-PDC - worth 50 wellpoints for a successful donation (extra wellpoints available for a double donation). You may also obtain wellpoints for any documented donation given off-campus.
- Wednesday, January 16th - "Metabolism & Healthy Living," presented by Carolyn Waygood, CNHP from 12:00pm to 1:00pm in Bldg. 100-172. Learn why some people can eat anything they want and never gain a pound while others only have to look at food and gain weight. What is it that makes us all different? - worth 50 wellpoints.
- Tuesday, January 29th - "Procrastination - Don't Put Off 'til Tomorrow," presented by SCF Advising Center staff from 1:00pm to 2:00pm in Bldg. 100-174. This workshop will look at some of the psychological reasoning behind why we procrastinate. The goal is to examine common characteristics of procrastination behavior and offer tips and advice on how to avoid this behavior. The workshop will help you examine you own procrastination tendencies and help you learn how to overcome and change these tendencies through positive self-talk and reinforcement - worth 50 wellpoints.
- Tuesday, January 29th - "Right Research = Right Career," presented by SCF Career Resource Center staff from 2:00pm to 3:00pm in Bldg. 100-170. Taking classes but not sure what you want to do for a career? Discover careers that suit your personality, interests, and values. - ***NEW EVENT***Tuesday, February 5th - Tools to Quit & Relapse Prevention Classes Are you still smoking but want to quit? Have you quit but need some support to keep you from relapsing? Get the help and support you need each Tuesday beginning February 5th through March 19th from 1:30pm to 2:30pm in the Bldg600-654. - Wednesday, February 6th - "College Success Skills," presented by SCF Disability Resource Center staff from 1:00pm to 2:00pm in Bldg. 600-617. Looking for proven strategies to increase your academic success? Come to this workshop to learn how to build a study schedule and start studying; to effectively read a text book; to take efficient and effective notes from class lectures, and more - worth 50 wellpoints.

- Thursday, February 14th - "10 Top Library Tips for Success," presented by SCF Library staff from 2:00pm to 3:00pm in the Library, second floor - worth 50 wellpoints.
- Monday, February 18th - "Resume Power Hour," presented by SCF Career ResourceCenter staff from 1:00pm to 2:00pm in Bldg. 100-170. Learn ways to build a resume that will give you an edge when applying for a job. Discover online tools available for cover letters and career portfolios - worth 50 wellpoints.
March 2013
- FREE Yoga classes - every Friday, presented by Zelena One from 12:05pm to 1:05pm in the Bldg 800-Selby (*no class on March 1st or March 15th) - worth 50 wellpoints for each class (maximum of 300 wellpoints for yoga classes can be earned per semester).
- Tuesday, March 5th - "Balancing Work and Life," presented by BayCare Life Management from 2:00pm to 3:00pm in Bldg. 100-174. - worth 50 wellpoints.
- Friday, March 8th - If you have accumulated 400 wellpoints by Friday, March 8th you are eligible for various prizes and gift certficiates. Simply turn in your wellness tracking sheet with the necessary documentation by 12:00pm (Noon) on Friday, March 8th in the SGA Club Hub (bldg. 14-130), room 133 on the Bradenton Campus or in the SGA Club Hub (bldg. 500) on the Venice Campus. You must attach your Health Risk Assessment age page (see pg. 7 of the Wellness Brochure) and staple it to your tracking sheet in order to be eligible for prizes and gift certficates. **Deadline will be strictly enforced.**

- Friday, April 12th - "Financial Literacy Book Club Event," presented by SCF Library staff from 12:00pm to 1:00pm in the Library, second floor. For information and details about the book for this event go to SCF Project get$mart - worth 50 wellpoints.
