First Time in College
Students who have earned their high school diploma or GED and are attending college for the first time. First time in college students are planning to earn a degree at SCF. Previous dual enrollment students are classified as first time in college students when applying to SCF for post high-school course work.

*Please note: If you have applied to or attended SCF in the last three semesters (fall, spring, and/or summer), you do not need to reapply. If you would like to change your major please complete the change of major
In order to complete your application, the following items need to be submitted to Admissions:
- Completed residency information and documentation for Florida in-state tuition (www.scf.edu/residency)
- Official high school transcript or GED test scores
- Official transcript(s) from each previously attended college/university (if applicable)

FINANCIAL AID
Apply for financial aid at fafsa.ed.gov by completing the online FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

2. TEST
- Make an appointment online to take the SCF Placement Test at www.scf.edu/testing.
Practice for the Placement Test online at www.scf.edu/practicetest.

- Submit ACT or SAT scores, taken within the past (2) years to the Educational Records Office.

3. ORIENTATION
Make an appointment for a mandatory new student orientation by contacting the Assessment and Testing Center. Placement test scores must be submitted to SCF prior to making an orientation appointment. Please allow up to two (2) business days for processing of SAT/ACT scores. Students will register for courses at their new student orientation appointment.

4. PAY
Pay your tuition and fees: online in SCF connect, in person, by phone, with financial aid, or by mail.

5. PREPARE
Get your SCF ID card and parking decal at the Public Safety Office in the Student Union on either the Bradenton or Venice campus.
Purchase your books at the Campus store.
