The Integration of disabled individuals in the mainstream of campus and community life can be supported on Philosophical, Pedagogical, Ethical, Financial and Legal grounds. It is not only the right thing (recognize the innate dignity and worth of all individuals) to do but it is efficient, cost effective, and greatly enhances the individual, the institution and the entire community. Those that are more responsive to legal mandates need to be aware of the key legislative mandates that address disability-related issues at the college and in society.
