Relocation to Accessible Facility
All new and renovated college facilities are fully accessible and compliant with American Disability Act (ADA) accessibility guidelines. However, a limited number of facilities at the college have not been renovated and their construction predates the Rehabilitation Act and the ADA and are therefore not entirely accessible. Should an individual with a disability be interested in participating in an activity or event that is scheduled in an inaccessible location he/she may request that the event be relocated to an accessible facility.
1. Be a qualified disabled individual
2. Submit a request to relocate the event to an accessible facility to the Disability Resource Center (DRC) at least 5 business days before the event.
The request can be submitted by phone, fax, or mail (electronic or conventional).
Individuals are encouraged, although not required, to use the Request for Relocation to an Accessible Facility form as it insures that all the necessary information to process the request is provided.
Minimally, and individual with a disability making such a request needs to provide the specifics of the event (identify event, date, day, time begin, time end, building, room), specify the needed accommodation (assistive listening device, interpreter etc.). The disability or functional limitation and contact information (name, address, phone, etc.) must be listed.
