College Placement Test (CPT)
The state of Florida requires all students to take the College Placement Test.
At the end of the term, EAP 0420 students with a "C" average will take the CPT. The instructor of the course will inform you of the date and time. The test is computerized and administered in the Academic Testing Center. In order to exit the English for Academic Purposes Program, Level IV students must score an 83 or higher in both Sentence Skills and Reading. The scores are available immediately upon completion of the test.
If a student does not score 83 or higher on the CPT, the Program offers a 'second chance' test. The 'second chance' test is called the Florida College Basic Skills Test. (This test is required for all REA 0002 students in order to exit the College Prep program.)
