Beginner Computer 1  (Windows 7)   

This hands-on course is designed for those who have little or no experience using a computer. A special feature of this class is that it is limited to eight participants, giving students more personalized instruction in the basics of using a PC with the new Windows 7 operating system. Topics covered include: proper power up and shut down, using a mouse and keyboard, navigating around Windows, opening a program, creating a text document, formatting text, saving a file, plus more.  No experience required.

Beginner Computer 2  (Windows 7)  

This hands-on course is for those who have completed Beginner Computer- Level 1 (Windows 7) and would like to continue learning the basics of using a PC with the new Windows 7 operating system. A special feature of this class is that it is limited to eight participants, giving students more personalized instruction in the basics of using a PC. Topics covered include: understanding files and folders, opening an existing file, editing a document, Windows settings such as the desktop, screen saver, mouse speed settings and clock settings, getting on the Internet using Internet Explorer, plus more.

This hands-on course is for those who have completed Beginner Computer - Levels 1 & 2 (Windows 7), and would like to further their computer skills. A special feature of this class is that it is limited to eight participants, giving students more personalized instruction in the basics of using a PC with the new Windows 7 operating system. Topics covered include: creating and saving multiple files, file and folder management (advanced file and folder tasks), using the main folders, getting on the Internet, plus more.

Chart of Accounts

The chart of accounts is critical to your successful use of QuickBooks.  Learn how to use and organize the chart of accounts and how to set up sub-accounts and how to use registers.  Learn how the chart of accounts is used in QuickBooks and its effect on reports in QuickBooks.  We will cover financial reporting such as the Profit & Loss reports, Balance Sheets, etc.  (This course is required prior to taking QuickBooks.)

This course will introduce you to the basic features of Microsoft's latest spreadsheet program. You will learn how to use the Microsoft user interface (ribbons and controls groups). This course will cover: entering numbers and text, numeric and text formatting includes cell styles, inserting and deleting rows and columns,hiding and freezing columns and rows, Auto fill, printing, entering simple formulas and functions, relative and absolute references, working with multiple worksheets, using 3D formulas and references, and more.

Microsoft PowerPoint is a complete presentation graphics package that is great time saver for anyone who makes presentations. PowerPoint can enhance your work with effective visuals using text, bullet lists, drawings, tables, charts, text boxes, photos, Clip Art, SmartArt, animation effects and slide transitions. Use this Windows-based software to create overhead projection/slideshows, handouts, and more.

QuickBooks  

This is a 15-hour hands-on class in which you will learn the most widely used components of QuickBooks. This intermediate accounting software is ideal for small and medium businesses. You will have the experience of using the easy step interview, by setting your own practice company. This will entail the basic accounting procedures. You will set up customers, vendors, and items, and use them to create invoices, receive payments, create bills, and pay bills, track and pay sales tax; and write checks. Learn to reconcile your bank accounts, and create monthly reports such as profit and loss and balance sheets. More topics will be covered as time allows. Note:  This class has a prerequisite (noted below).

Requirements: "Chart of Accounts" class prior to QuickBooks; Experience using a Windows based computer, including a keyboard and mouse.
