State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) theatre faculty and staff members Kenneth Erickson, Dean Anthony, Craig Smith and James Thaggard accompanied nine students who attended several productions in New York City this spring.
(04-21-2014) SCFCS Student Excels at State Competition
State College of Florida Collegiate School (SCFCS) ninth grade student AJ Cali received a Superior Rating at the Florida Thespians State Festival March 26-28 for his solo musical performance of "Extraordinary" from the Broadway musical "Pippin." Cali, who performed with 7,000 high school students in Florida, qualified for the national competition in Lincoln, Neb., this summer.

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) President Dr. Carol F. Probstfeld recognized 51 volunteers for their 4,200 hours of service in 2013 during award ceremonies at SCF Bradenton and SCF Venice in celebration of National Volunteer Week April 6-12.

Coach Betsy McCormack Named FCSAA Coach of the Year
For the fourth consecutive year, State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Manatees Women's Tennis team is headed to compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's Tennis Tournament May 3-9 in Tyler, Texas. The team won the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) State/NJCAA Region VIII Championship on April 12.
(04-16-2014) SCF Model UN Team Excels at Conference
Students Win Top Honors
For the third consecutive conference and fourth time in State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota's (SCF) history, the SCF Model United Nations team received Best Position Paper at the 2014 Charlotte Southern Regional Model United Nations (UN) Conference held April 10-12. SCF also won the Honorable Mention Delegation Award for the third time. Both awards were for representing Italy.
(04-15-2014) SCF's Kristen Anderson Recognized with Citizen of the Year Award
Kristen L. Anderson, program director of special programs at SCF, was recognized with a Citizen of the Year Award by the Sarasota Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. at an award ceremony April 5.
