MCC Hosts Child Care Conference
(Bradenton, Fla., March 9, 2009) - The Early Learning Child Care Program at Manatee Community College (MCC) and the Early Learning Coalition (ELC) of Manatee County will host a conference for early child care providers Saturday, March 28, at MCC Bradenton, Student Union, bldg. 14, 5840 26th St. W.
"The Q Factor: Raising the Bar through Quality in Early Childhood Education" conference features morning and afternoon keynote speakers, lunch and training breakout sessions.
Dr. Elizabeth Elliot will present "Keeping the Qs in line with the Ps" as the morning keynote address. She will use motivational, humorous and inspiring stories from her experience as a teacher to discuss professionalism and quality in early childhood education.
Participants can choose two break-out sessions from a variety of options. Session topics include session planning, leadership, classroom techniques, teaching children self-control and more.
Dr. Robyn Spirtas will present "Take Care of Yourself" during the afternoon keynote session. She will share inspirational and practical techniques to promote well-being.
Conference participation provides 6.5 hours of in-service training. The cost for the conference is $30 for ELC members and $35 for non-members, and CEUs are available for an additional $15.
