MCC Music Faculty Perform Feb. 10

(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 2, 2009) - Manatee Community College (MCC) faculty members will perform a variety of classical and popular music in a benefit recital at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, in Neel Performing Arts Center, MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W. Proceeds from the concert will be used to support MCC's music program.

MCC faculty members boast a broad range of musical performance experience and many perform with prestigious groups that include the Sarasota Orchestra, Florida Orchestra and Sarasota Pop Orchestra, and in state, national and international professional venues.

Featured musicians include William Barbanera, saxophone and clarinet; Melodie Dickerson, soprano; Chung-Yon Hong, violin; Thomas Koch, guitar; Martha A. Lopez, Soprano; Marc P. Mannino, jazz/pop guitar; Mike Markaverich, jazz piano; Lurray Myers, piano; Laurie Penpraze, trombone, euphonium and tuba; Carol Sparrow, mezzo-soprano; Laura M. Spaulding, mezzo-soprano; Joyce Valentine, piano; Sasha von Dassow, cello; Rex Willis, classical guitar; and guest artist Jerome Butler, bass.
