MCC Scholarship Flea Market to be Held Jan. 17
(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 6, 2009) - The Manatee Community College (MCC) Student Government Association (SGA) and No Name Tennis Club will host the 23rd Annual Scholarship Flea Market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, in the parking lot at 26th St. W. and 60th Ave. W. at MCC Bradenton. SGA and the club will sell small, donated items and will make rented space available to those who want to sell items for their own profit. Proceeds from the annual fundraiser provide scholarships for MCC students. Last year, 100 vendors participated and more than $4,000 was raised.
The No Name Tennis Club is a group of retired American and Canadian tennis enthusiasts who play on MCC tennis courts. Members of the club serve on the SGA Single Parent Scholarship Committee with MCC students and faculty, and club members assist at SGA-sponsored cookouts.
Rental space is $12. In event of rain, the flea market will be held Sunday, Jan. 18. For more information call Tim Hill II, MCC student activities advisor, at 941-752-5607. Directions to MCC Bradenton can be downloaded at mccfl.edu/maps.
