SCF to Offer Captains License Courses
(Bradenton, Fla., November 12, 2009) - State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), in partnership with True Course Captain's School, will offer captain's license courses approved by the United States Coast Guard (U.S.C.G.) at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.
The following courses will be held:
- The Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel Charter Captain's License course includes training to operate pleasure boats weighing up to 100GT and carrying a limit of six charter passengers. To complete the course, students must attend classes at 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5, and Sunday, Dec. 6, and 6 - 10 p.m., Monday - Friday, Dec. 7 - 11. The fee is $895.
- The License Renewal class for a five-year license will be held 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14. The fee is $250.
- The Tow Endorsement License course provides training for an operator of uninspected passenger vessels up to 200 tons to offer commercial towing services. The class will be held 6 - 10 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17. The fee is $150.
- The Master Upgrade class is for training to operate U.S.C.G. inspected vessels carrying more than six passengers. The class will be held 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Friday - Sunday, Dec. 18 - 20. The fee is $345.
