SCF to Launch New Book and Author Series

(Bradenton, Fla., Nov. 2, 2009) - State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Library will begin a new book and author series featuring college faculty and local authors at 5-7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.

The first reception will recognize Del Jacobs, multimedia/film program manager at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. His new book, "Interrogating the Image: Movies and the World of Film and Television," explores the effects of living in a media-saturated world.

Jacobs is a documentary filmmaker and author of "Revisioning Film Traditions: The Pseudo-Documentary and the NeoWestern." He has a master's degree in mass communications from the University of South Florida and a bachelor's degree in film and communication from Loyola University. 

At the reception, Jacobs will make a presentation and be available for questions and book signing. "Interrogating the Image: Movies and the World of Film and Television," published by University Press of America, is available online and at major bookstores.
