SCF Music Program to Host Concert by Sarasota Opera Association's Studio Artists

(Bradenton, Fla., October 26, 2009) - State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Music Program will host a live concert presented by studio artists from the Sarasota Opera Association at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Neel Performing Arts Center at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. The concert is free and open to the public.

Kristen Kemp, musical director of the Sarasota Opera Association's Studio Artists Program, will accompany four professional studio artists in a performance including a variety of music from the operatic repertoire.

The Studio Artists Program includes emerging artists who serve the main stage productions by covering the principal roles and performing supporting roles. Participants in the program have had success in performing in the Sarasota Opera as principal artists and with La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, and other international companies.

The 30-minute concert will be followed by a question and answer session about the Studio Artists Program.
