SCF Lakewood Ranch to Offer New Computer Classes
(Bradenton, Fla., September 8, 2009) - State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Corporate and Community Development (CCD) will offer new noncredit computer courses this fall at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway East, Sarasota.
A new course, Legal Document Processing I, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, will introduce the basics of preparing and formatting legal documents using Microsoft's latest word processing program, Word 2007. The fee is $129.
In addition, Databases in Excel 2007 will be offered to those wanting to expand their skills. Features include how to sort and filter a list, copy filtered records, summarize lists by creating subtotals, use database functions and more. The class is offered from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29 and Thursday, Oct. 1. The fee is $119.
CCD also offers Access 2007 Level 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23 and Sept. 30 and Access 2007 Level 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7 and Oct. 14. The fee is $169 per class.
In Digital Photography, students will learn the basics, from selecting and setting up a camera to printing and e-mailing images. The focus will be on taking digital pictures in the first half of the class and on processing them on the computer in the second half. Students are urged to bring their cameras along with user manuals. A camera will be available for use by students who do not have their own. Digital Photography will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. The fee is $119.
