New Chart of Accounts Class Offered at SCF

(Bradenton, Fla., September 4, 2009) - A new computer class to prepare computer users for more advanced courses in QuickBooks, a popular bookkeeping program, will be offered this fall at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF). Ideal for small and medium businesses, the software can be used to create purchase orders, receive and pay bills, create invoices and graphs and customize reports.

An upcoming noncredit course, Chart of Accounts is a new prerequisite for the new 15-hour QuickBooks class and QuickBooks Payroll. Chart of Accounts teaches participants how to set up sub accounts and use registers. Participants also will learn how to create accounts to help prepare balance sheets and profit and loss reports. Charts of Accounts will be held 9 - 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 21, at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway East and 10 a.m. - noon, Tuesday, Oct. 20, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail. The fee is $25.

QuickBooks 2008 will prepare participants to use the accounting software to set up a company, create customers, vendors, items, employees, invoices, sales tax and more. This class is offered 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23 and Sept. 30, at SCF Lakewood Ranch and on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, at SCF Venice. The fee is $285.

In QuickBooks Payroll, participants will learn how to print pay checks, calculate payroll and track employee information, benefits and deductions. This advanced class will be held 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, at SCF Lakewood Ranch and Thursday, Oct. 8, at SCF Venice. The fee is $119.
