SCF Staff Earned CBA Recertification
(Bradenton, Fla., August 26, 2009) - Carolyn Griffin, assistant director of the Business Resource Center at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), earned recertification as a Certified Business Analyst (CBA) from the Florida Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network. Griffin, who oversees the SBDC at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), was recognized by the state director of Florida's network for promoting and supporting a strong business environment in the area.
The state's requirements for counselor recertification and professional development are among the most stringent in the nation, equipping Florida's professionals to advise small, local companies to grow and maintain their businesses.
Under her leadership at SCF, services have expanded to include new courses and programs relevant to small businesses in the region. Griffin has counseled people who have expressed interested in starting a new business or needed technical assistance in managing an existing business. She has forged strong collaborative partnerships with local economic development partners, including the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and the North Port Small Business Technical Assistance program.
