SCF Hosts Information Sessions for New RN to B.S.N. Program
(Bradenton, Fla., August 11, 2009) - State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) will host information sessions for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) program.
The RN to B.S.N. program will begin in January 2010 with the first two cohorts of students at SCF Bradenton and SCF Venice. Students eligible for the RN to B.S.N. program must have completed prerequisite courses and have or obtain a Florida registered nurse license.
Hour-long information sessions are scheduled at the following three campuses in August and September:
- 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20 and Tuesday Sept. 15 at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, building 29.
- 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18 and Wednesday, Sept. 16. at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.
- 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Thursday, Sept. 17 at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway East.
SCF's baccalaureate nursing program was developed in response to the need from local hospitals and healthcare providers for highly educated nurses. Designed to allow registered nurses to complete their bachelor's degree locally in 15 months, the program couples experience with advanced nursing education, preparing students for roles in leadership, management, and community and public health.
