SCF Administrator Received the Ken Jarrett Service Award

(Bradenton, Fla., August 3, 2009) - Dr. Carol Probstfeld, vice president of business and administrative services at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), was the recipient of the Ken Jarrett Service Award for her contributions to the Florida College System (FCS).

Probstfeld, an officer for the system's Council of Business Affairs (COBA), exceeded expectations in her leadership roles that brought about system changes and contributed to the resolution of legal, policy and regulatory issues. Probstfeld has been credited with bringing distinction to COBA and FCS, representing the organizations at annual meetings held by the National Association of College and University Business Officers.

The award is named in honor of Ken Jarrett, who served as director of business affairs for the Florida Division of Community Colleges until his death in 2000. Presented annually by COBA, recipients are chosen by past award winners.

"I am honored to have been selected by the previous winners of this award, whom I hold in the highest regard, to be counted among them as a recipient of this distinguished award," Probstfeld said.

She has served on the Strategic Planning Task Force, Funding Model Committee and District Coast Differential subcommittee, Florida Distance Learning Task Force, and COBA Steering Committee.
