MCC Fine Art Gallery to Feature Work by Czech Artist

(Bradenton, Fla., April 14, 2009) - An art exhibit conveying a satire on greed, money and politics following the separation of the Czech and Slovak republics will be on display at Manatee Community College's (MCC) new Fine Art Gallery from April 28 to May 21. The gallery is located in building 11 North, adjacent to the Neel Performing Arts Center at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West.

Oldrich Kulhanek's "Funny Money" series is a suite of prints created after he designed the Czech Republic's new currency in the early 1990s. As the last complete set that exists in the Western Hemisphere, the series is KulhaVnek's most popular work. The suite, along with six other prints from Kulhanek's "Ecce Homo" series, was recently purchased for the art collection at MCC.

Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For more information, contact Joe Loccisano, gallery manager, by calling (941) 752-5225. Maps and directions are online at
