Admission Program on State "Best Practices" Web Site

An innovative program for high school seniors that streamlines the admission process at Manatee Community College (MCC) has been posted on the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) "Best Practices in Florida's Community Colleges" Web site. 

The Best Practices Web site offers information about exemplary programs to help community college leaders develop solutions to the challenges their institutions face. It features new techniques, improved processes, and programs that are effective and enhance outreach. The three-day MCC program, "Jump In," for graduating high school seniors in Manatee and Sarasota counties, is scheduled during the high schools' Spring Breaks.  It includes an admission and funding workshop, an overview of degree programs, campus tour and a chance to win a scholarship. Program completers receive priority placement in new-student orientations.  In Spring 2008, 75 high school seniors participated.
