MCC Posts Record Enrollment
MCC President Dr. Lars A. Hafner announced that for the first time in MCC's history, Fall term head count zoomed past 10,000 and closed in on 11,000 students. The final count at the end of the add/drop period is 10,715 head count (8.1 percent higher than last fall) and 105,097 load hours (9.55 percent up from Fall 2007).
While these are collegewide figures, all three sites at Bradenton, Venice and Lakewood Ranch show healthy growth.
Even with the growth, MCC maintains a low instructor-to-student ratio for the classroom environment students have come to expect. Hafner credits the contributions of all employees for ensuring that MCC retains a friendly, supportive and welcoming atmosphere as growth continues.
