MCC Honors Seven With Excellence in Government Awards
(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 13, 2008) - The Manatee Community College (MCC) Institute of Government honored seven winners of 2007 Excellence in Government awards at a Feb. 7 luncheon at MCC Lakewood Ranch. The annual awards recognize contributions to better customer service, community outreach and efficient and innovative operations.
Winners of Customer Service Excellence Awards are Sherri Smith, director of customer offices, Sarasota County Tax Collector's Office; and Debra Scott, quality assurance supervisor, Manatee County Tax Collector's Office.
New Leader Award winners are Rana Melhem, executive assistant, Sarasota County Tax Collector's Office; and Kim Kinnard, supervisor of Customer Contact Center, Manatee County Tax Collector's Office.
The Community Outreach Award winner is Coleen Miller, community outreach administrator, Sarasota County Tax Collector's Office. Terry Skinner, IT director, Sarasota County Tax Collector's Office, won an IT Professional Award. Joseph Garofalo Jr., fiscal administrator, Sarasota County Tax Collector's Office, won a Fiscally Responsible Innovator Award.
