MCC Music Faculty Perform Feb. 5

(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 15, 2008) - Manatee Community College (MCC) faculty members will perform a variety of classical and popular music in a benefit recital at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 5, in Neel Performing Arts Center, located off 26th Street at 60th Avenue West. Proceeds from the concert will go toward the ongoing renovation of the Music and Theater Building at MCC Bradenton.

Featured musicians include Lisa Barbanera, flute; William Barbanera, saxophone; Todd Craven, trumpet; Melodie Dickerson, soprano; David Katz, baritone; Martha Lopez, soprano; Marc Mannino, jazz guitar; Mike Markaverich, jazz piano; Laurie Penpraze, trombone; Leonidas Sarakatsannis, piano; Carol Sparrow, mezzo soprano; and Rex Willis, classical guitar. MCC faculty members boast a broad range of musical performance experience and many perform with prestigious groups that include the Florida West Coast Symphony, Florida Orchestra and Sarasota Opera, and in state and national professional venues.
