World-Renowned Jazz Pianist Performs at MCC

(Bradenton, Fla., Jan. 7, 2008) - Pianist Mike Markaverich will perform mainstream jazz selections in a concert at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, in Neel Performing Arts Center, located off 26th Street at 60th Avenue West, Manatee Community College (MCC) Bradenton. Blind since birth, Markaverich has never seen a musical note but has been a featured performer in radio and television programs and he records CDs on his own Marktime Records label.

An adjunct instructor at MCC, Markaverich has more than 20 years of professional experience and a repertoire that includes Broadway, blues, boogie-woogie, ballads, gospel and bop music. He appeared in major clubs in Cape Cod before moving to Sarasota in 1988.
