Noncredit Online Classes Increasingly Popular

(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 14, 2007) - Noncredit online courses offered by Manatee Community College (MCC) Corporate and Community Development through a partnership with ed2go, one of the nation's leading providers of online training, are growing in popularity. Recently, MCC was congratulated for being on the company's "Top Gainer" list for the third quarter of 2007.

"Your program has grown by 126 percent over the third quarter of 2006," said Kelly Bernhard, ed2go account manager.

A wide variety of personal enrichment and professional development classes are offered by ed2go in such areas as accounting, Web page design, computer applications, digital photography and video, health care, marketing, grant writing and test preparation.

The convenience of taking lessons at home or in the office on a 24-hour basis and prices that start as low as $89 for a course are popular attributes of the online program. Instructor-led classes also allow for lively discussions with fellow students. A new section of each course begins each month and runs six to eight weeks. Each of the online courses is comprised of 12 lessons that encompass about 24 hours of instruction.
