MCC Music Ensembles Present Fall Festival Concert
(Bradenton, Fla., Sept. 20, 2007) - Manatee Community College (MCC) choirs, music ensembles and orchestra will combine their talents to present a Fall Festival of Music at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, in Neel Performing Arts Center, located off 26th St. West at 60th Avenue West. An annual event, the Fall Festival will feature popular toe-tappin' favorites such as "With a Voice of Singing" by Martin Shaw, "'S Wonderful" by George Gershwin, "Sweet Georgia Brown" by Ben Bernie and "Chameleon" by Herbie Hancock.
This year's Fall Festival will be the debut event for new Wind Ensemble and College Orchestra Director Dr. Daniel Steiger. A retired U.S. Army major, Steiger performed as a euphonium, trombone and keyboard player, arranger, conductor and music instructor throughout his military career. Melodie Dickerson will direct the MCC Choirs. Marc Mannino will direct the Jazz Ensemble and Rex Willis will direct the Guitar Ensemble.
