MCC Corporate & Community Development Expands Classes
(Bradenton, Fla., Aug. 28, 2007) - For the first time in Fall term 2007, students may register for Manatee Community College (MCC) Corporate and Community Development (CCD) classes online. Enrollment in Spring-term 2007 CCD classes increased by 23 percent over last year, showing that CCD is reaching more people with a combination of popular personal enrichment classes, workforce training and collaborations with partner organizations to offer new services.
Day, evening and weekend classes are offered at all three MCC campuses in Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch and Venice. Traffic Safety Institute driver improvement and substance abuse prevention programs also are offered at 1991 Main St., Suite 123, Main Street Plaza, Sarasota.
Classes for adults include ballroom dancing, child care provider training and motorcycle riding classes. New Lap Dulcimer and Folk Guitar classes are offered at MCC Bradenton. Youth Entrepreneurship classes are offered at MCC Lakewood Ranch and a Lunch at Lakewood Ranch series features a catered lunch and demonstrations of new training programs. Security Officer Training, Conversational Spanish and a new class, Writing Your Memoirs, are offered at MCC Venice. Programs are provided in concert with ArtCenter Manatee and the Suncoast Workforce Board, and distance learning options have been enhanced by ed2go classes that cover topics from anatomy to Web design.
