Print Collection Exhibit Closes With Reception

An exhibit of artworks Manatee Community College has acquired in the past 50 years will close with a reception featuring a gallery talk by art historian Donn Roll at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27th, in the fine art gallery at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. The reception is free and open to the public. Roll will discuss prints and printmaking.

The exhibit, Printcollection1, was displayed this summer as a salute to the college's 50th anniversary. MCC's fine art print collection features prints by Francisco Goya, Kathe Kollwitz, Leonard Baskin, Stanley Hayter, Shiou-Ping Liao and many more talented artists. Biographical information on each artist also is provided. Former owner and director of the prestigious Donn Roll Contemporary/Foster Harmon Galleries in Sarasota, Roll is an MCC adjunct instructor and also lectures and serves as Adult Program Coordinator at the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota. He assists with docent training programs at the Ringling Museum and Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland. Ross has lectured extensively throughout the state and served as a juror for numerous exhibitions and art festivals.
