(Bradenton, Fla., April 26, 2007) - Manatee Community College (MCC) Professor Greg Arnold, manager of the criminal justice technology program, received an Alumni Meritorious Service Award from the University of Mississippi School of Applied Sciences. Arnold was recognized for his years of service as an educator and for his lead role in founding the Florida Community College Criminal Justice Educator's Association (FCCCEA).

The FCCCJEA has great influence on how Police Academy credits are awarded and has united Florida's community colleges and universities in development of transfer standards. Florida students now enjoy a seamless transition from technical academies to community colleges offering associate's degree to universities offering bachelor's degrees in criminal justice.
