Annual MCC Exhibit Features Best Student Artwork

(Bradenton, Fla., April 9, 2007) - An Annual Juried Art Student Exhibition featuring the best artwork produced by Manatee Community College (MCC) students in the 2006-07 academic year will continue through April 27 in the fine art gallery at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West. 

Cooper Levey-Baker, events editor for Creative Loafing weekly newspaper, will judge the competition. A cum laude graduate of Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, N.C., Levey-Baker received a grant in late 2006 from the Arts Council of Sarasota County in support of his as-yet-unpublished novel, Passaggiata.

A total of $2,700 in cash awards will be presented to the best in show, a Creative Loafing Award and to the top three winners in each of seven categories that include film and video, graphic design, graphics, illustration, photography, pottery and sculpture.
