(Bradenton, Fla., April 6, 2007) - See Rock City, a short film by Manatee Community College (MCC) faculty and students, is one of three films being shown in the Sarasota Filmmaker's Spotlight Shorts Program at the 9th Annual Sarasota Film Festival. The 30-minute film will be shown April 16 in a program that begins at 6 p.m. in Regal Hollywood 20, 1993 Main St., Sarasota.

The MCC film was produced in a class taught by Assistant Professor Doug Osman. It debuted in November 2006 in the Cine-World Film Festival at Burns Court Cinemas, Sarasota, and was screened in the Longbaugh Film Festival, held March 29 through April 1 in Willamette Week, Oregon.

Broadway actress Annie Morrison plays the central character, a seriously ill singer traveling to Atlanta with two feuding friends to make her last onstage appearance. Other cast members are MCC graduate Susan Jones Mannino, who has appeared in Asolo Theatre and other professional theatre productions, and Steven Hill, an MTV "The Real World - Las Vegas" cast member. He also has appeared in the soap opera, "Passions," and a television reality show about the making of a horror film.
