LAST DAY - Enter 50th Anniversary Essay Contest
(Bradenton, Fla., Feb. 6, 2007) -- The Foundation for Manatee Community College (MCC) Inc. is offering $10,000 in cash prizes in the "MCC Celebrates 50th Essay Contest." The contest is open to everyone as part of the college's 50th anniversary celebration
Participants are invited to tell their MCC story by completing the phrase, "Thank you, MCC, for …" in 250 or fewer words. Categories include MJC/MCC alumni; current MCC student; business partner; or friend of the college. Four first-place winners each will receive $2,500 to present to the MCC department of their choice. Winners also will receive valuable gifts.
A panel of community volunteers will select winning entries, which will be published on the foundation's Web site by May 13, 2007, and may be published in other media. All entries become the property of the Foundation for Manatee Community College Inc.
Entries must be received in the foundation office by 5 p.m., March 23, 2007. Maximum length is 250 words, preferably typed and double spaced. Essays may be submitted online, faxed to (941) 753-0853, or mailed to The Foundation for Manatee Community College Inc., P.O. Box 1849, Bradenton, FL 34206. The $10,000 prize money was contributed by MCC Community Ambassador Graci McGillicuddy and her husband, Dennis.
