Students Present Mystery-Drama in J. James Studio Theatre

(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 30, 2006) - A shotgun blast shatters the smug complacency of a dying American small town in a mystery-drama, The Rimers of Eldritch, presented by Manatee Community College (MCC) Studio 84 at 8 p.m., Nov. 16 through 18, in the John W. James Studio Theatre, located off 26th Street at 60th Avenue West, MCC Bradenton.

When the shocking crime occurs, rather than face reality, the God-fearing, gossip-prone people of Eldritch prefer to blind themselves with self-satisfied lies and contentious rumors. The town's youthful dreamers are faced with a dilemma: Should they let the truth wash away a comforting façade? Audiences are kept guessing as to who, what, where and when until the final curtain in the play by Lanford Wilson.

Directed by Dean Anthony, the cast includes Andrew Bakker, Kali Blankenship, Kira Borrowdale, Colin Brady, Moira Carroll, Kelly Clark, Jody Hunt, Nathan James, Maggie Jewell, Hunter Kallenbach, Cheryl Kay, Aaron Koch, Cassandra Magnuson, Dayton Sinkia, Aly Taylor, Ryan Dowd Urch and Jennifer Woll.

General admission is $10. Tickets are $5 for MCC students and staff. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. For more information, call (941) 752-5252.
