MCC Film to Debut in Cine-World Film Festival

(Bradenton, Fla., Oct. 19, 2006) - Faculty and class members in a Manatee Community College (MCC) film production class taught by Assistant Professor Doug Osman will debut a new short film production, See Rock City, in screenings at 5 and 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 8, in the Cine-World Film Festival at Burns Court Cinemas, 506 Burns Lane, Sarasota.

The film focuses on a day in the life of a seriously ill woman traveling to Atlanta to make her last onstage appearance as a singer. She is accompanied by two friends who don't like each other. Broadway actress Annie Morrison plays the central character. Other cast members are MCC graduate Susan Jones Mannino, who has appeared in Asolo Theatre and other professional theatre productions, and Steven Hill, an MTV "The Real World - Las Vegas" cast member. He also has appeared in the soap opera, "Passions," and a television reality show about the making of a horror film.

Another film produced by an MCC film production class, The Southernmost Point, premiered in Sarasota's 2005 Cine-World Film Festival and was a showcased film in the prestigious Sedona International Film Festival held in February in Sedona, Ariz.
