MCC's Carolyn Griffin a Certified Business Analyst

(Bradenton, Fla., Sept. 17, 2006) - Carolyn Griffin, assistant director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Manatee Community College (MCC), recently earned the Certified Business Analyst (CBA) designation by completing an SBDC professional development training regimen. The CBA credential attests to her expertise in starting and financing a new business, import and export issues and writing a business plan.

Griffin, who has nearly 10 years of business experience, completed eight modules designed by the Florida SBDC and passed accompanying tests. The former owner of a real estate investment company, Griffin also has been a managing member of a local hauling company and a project manager for a major accounting firm. She joined the MCC staff in the spring of this year.  

The College's SBDC serves as a hub for specialized education and information services for new and existing businesses in Sarasota and Manatee counties. Free confidential, one-on-one counseling for those who want to start a business or face unique business challenges, and low-cost training courses are offered at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West; MCC Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail; and the Center for Innovation and Technology at MCC Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway East.
