(Bradenton, Fla., July 25, 2006) - With the beginning of Fall term 2006 classes approaching, students and prospective students of all ages and interests are invited to learn more about Manatee Community College's (MCC) programs and services - and how easy it is to sign up for them - at an Information Session from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 9, room 834, building 800, MCC Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail. The Fall term begins Aug. 21 and the last day for new students to apply is Aug. 16.
An MCC outreach services advisor will host the information session, which includes a campus tour. Participants will learn about MCC credit and noncredit programs; how to enroll and get a successful start at MCC; and financial aid options.
MCC offers an associate in arts (A.A.) degree and some associate in science (A.S.) degrees for students who intend to transfer to university programs and more than 20 associate in applied science (A.A.S.) degrees that prepare students to enter the workforce immediately upon graduation. Noncredit options include Corporate and Community Development personal enrichment and professional development classes; and a free general education (GED) test preparation and counseling program.
