MCC Expands Offerings for Those Learning the English Language
(Bradenton, Fla., July 18, 2006) - Manatee Community College (MCC) will offer classes for students with different levels of skill in speaking, reading and writing English in Fall term 2006. English for Academic Purposes (EAP) classes will be offered at MCC Bradenton, 5840 26th St. West, and MCC Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.
Prospective students must take a Level of English Proficiency test and provide a short writing sample to ensure placement in the correct level. They will receive help outside the classroom setting from learning specialists and tutors in a state-of-the-art Academic Resource Center at either campus. Personalized, comprehensive advising assists student in achieving career and professional goals and financial aid is available to those who qualify.
Day (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and evening classes (Monday through Thursday) will be offered at MCC Bradenton. Day (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) classes will be offered at MCC Venice.
Enrollment is under way for Fall 2006 classes that begin Aug. 21 and end Dec. 14. The last day new student applications will be accepted for admission is Aug. 16 for most Fall term day, evening and distance learning classes. Class offerings may be viewed on MCC's Web site at mccfl.edu.
